Southwest Nevada Night Photography Tour
TOUR DETAILS
Come join us for a tour of night photography and light painting under some of the clearest skies the western United States has to offer. We will be focusing on photographing some of the historic ghost towns and landscapes in western Nevada and the eastern Sierras of California. This region of Nevada is noted for extremely clear skies with little to no light pollution.
The tour is designed for anyone with a photographic interest wanting to share their skills with others while enjoying an alternate form of creativity.
We will have a basic orientation to night photography and light painting during our first dinner and then be off to shoot our nights work in the ghost town of Ryolite Nevada, on the edge of Death Valley.
The second night we will be in the ghost town of Gold Point, Nevada. This rustic old mining camp is still inhabited by a few who still call the quiet Nevada desert home.
Our third night will be photographing in the Eastern Sierra region of California. This region offers many opportunities from old abandoned vehicles to mountain lakes and mining camps.
Plan on arriving back at the hotel in the early morning hours and sleeping in or meeting amongst yourselves to have breakfast on your own. During the afternoon we will meet and have a review session to share and critique our work.
If you prefer to shoot in black and white, please feel free to come along; the focus of this tour is to have fun and express creativity.
Because of the time frame for this tour, we will only be able to review digital format images, so those choosing to use film will not be able to display their work.
We will have on hand a couple of notebook computers and a display for presentations, but please bring your own card readers for the media format you use. Also, because of the time shooting at night, there will be minimal access to stores for film, media, batteries, etc. Please bring enough to cover two separate 5 hour shoots.
The price includes three nights hotel, four lunches and three dinners and bus transportation for the whole tour. If you have any special meal requirements, we do need to know them in advance. The hotel rooms are double occupancy; if you desire a single there will be an extra charge. If you are traveling as a couple or with friends, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you in the same room.
Do to unforeseen circumstances such as weather, fires, etc. that might influence the night sky or safety of our tour, we reserve the right to change the location if necessary. We will try our best to only alternate the nights/ locations to remain true to this tour; however we might have to change to another option. Please check out our Salton Sea Tour, as this would be offered in the event of a change before we offer a cancellation.

Price is $900/person
Because of the tight shooting in these locations this tour is limited in space to a minimum of 6 people and maximum of 16.
To reserve your space in this tour, please print out the Reservation Form and Waiver and send it along with the required deposit (we accept cashiers check, money order, and travelers checks) to the address provided on the form. Or, if you prefer, you may send payment (deposit only or full payment) online through PayPal, but you still need to send in the reservation form/waiver.
Deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE unless the tour is cancelled. If we cancel the tour you will receive a full refund. If you cancel before July 24 you will be refunded whatever you have paid minus the deposit. Full payment, along with the reservation form and waiver, must be received 30 days prior to tour departure.
